Everyone has a morning routine. Having one is essential because it sets the tone of the day. However, not everyone has the best morning routine. That means to say that not all the things we do in the morning help us be a more productive version of ourselves. Fortunately, we have some tips below on which to include in this part of our day to have the best morning routine.
1. Set The Right Time for You to Get Up
A lot of people say that it’s always better to wake up early in the morning. The theory is that the earlier to get up, the more productive you can be; starting your day early does give you more time to do more things hence, making you more productive. However, that doesn’t mean that people who like to sleep in a little bit are any less productive. Individuals who start their day a bit later than morning people can be as equally productive so long as they have a good morning routine, whatever time that may be.
2. Make Your Bed
Making your bed seems a straightforward and unimportant task, but that’s where some people get it wrong. Making your bed in the morning has two essential purposes: one is to instill some responsibility in you, and the other is that it’s never nice to go back to a messy bed after a long hard day.
3. Avoid Decision-Making Tasks in the Morning
Your best morning routine does not have to start in the morning, literally. A good morning routine sometimes needs to be started the night before, especially when it comes to decision-making tasks. Tasks like what to wear and what to eat are best done before you go to bed. Doing these will avoid wasting minutes of your morning dwelling on deciding which top to put on or which bread to toast.
Do exercise in the morning. It doesn’t have to be hardcore exercise, but a few minutes of stretching or, if you got the time, jogging can help you face the day with more energy. Some people have attested to the benefit of doing exercise in the morning, saying that they tend to be less sleepy at work when exercise is included in their morning routine.
Meditating helps you release any anxiety you might be feeling about starting your day, and so making you readier to do what needs to be done. Exercise and meditation may seem to be too much in one morning so that you may choose between the two.
6. Take A Shower
Hit the showers in the morning if you can. Having showered in the morning will give you a more prepared feeling about starting your day. It can just be a quick shower, as you can do the scrubbing at night to save time.
7. Have A Good Breakfast
Many say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that is very true. Especially if you’ve burned some calories in the morning, it’s essential that you replenish yourself with the right amount of carbohydrates, and maybe some caffeine if you must, to boost your energy throughout the day.
8. Do the Hardest Task First
Doing and finishing the most challenging task in the morning will give you some sense of security knowing that the worst is already over and that if you were able to get the most challenging job of the day in the morning, you can anything the rest of the day.
Do all these to have a more stable and fixed morning routine. When we’re about to start our day, and we aim to have a productive lifestyle, we cannot afford to have a jumbled morning routine.
